Andrew Knueve

Partner

Andy was born and raised in Kalida, Ohio.  He graduated from Bowling Green State University with Honors in 2009.  He then went on to receive his Juris Doctorate Degree from the Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law in 2012.  During his time at Ohio Northern, Andy was selected to the Executive Board of the Law Review.

 

Andy has been licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio since 2012 and an Attorney with Knueve, Sahloff, and Wildenhaus, LLC since 2015.  He became Partner on January 1, 2019.  Andy is a licensed Title Insurance Agent for Old Republic National Title Insurance Company, and is a Partner in Tri-County Title, LLC.

 

Andy is currently serving as Law Director for the City of Delphos.  He has served the City in that capacity since 2014.  Prior to his time as Law Director, Andy also served on the Delphos City Council.

 

Prior to coming to Knueve, Sahloff, and Wildenhaus, LLC, he practiced law at Huffman, Kelley, Brock & Gottschalk, LLC in Lima.  Andy works primarily in our Ottawa office, but also takes appointments, as requested, in our Fort Jennings location.

 

Andy resides in Delphos, Ohio with his wife Amanda and their three children Myles, Cambria and Charlotte. Andy and his family are members of the Delphos St. John’s Catholic Parish.

Kurt Sahloff

Partner

Kurt Sahloff was born in Toledo, Ohio in 1968.  He grew up in Northwest Ohio, enjoying school, his family, friends, and playing football and basketball at Swanton High School.  Kurt received a B.A. in 1991 from the University of Toledo, graduating with honors.  Kurt received a J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law in 1993, graduating with honors, and served on the law review.

 

Kurt has been practicing law with the firm in Putnam County since 1994.  He practices in the areas of income tax planning and preparation, crisis Medicaid planning, asset protection, real estate transactions, elder law, estate planning, and estate and trust administration.

 

Kurt currently serves as the Chairman of the Putnam County Board of Elections.  He formerly served as the Prosecuting Attorney of Putnam County (2001-2005). Kurt is a licensed Title Insurance Agent for Old Republic National Title Insurance Company, and is a Partner in Tri-County Title, LLC.

 

Kurt and his wife, Lori (Brink) Sahloff, live just outside of Ottawa with their two college-aged children, Amanda (BGSU) and Seth (Univ. of Cincinnati).

William Wildenhaus

Of Counsel

Bill grew up in Fort Jennings, Ohio, and graduated college from the University of Dayton in 1969, and from the University of Toledo College of Law in 1974.

 

Bill has been an attorney with the firm since 1979 and was a partner with the firm from 1981 to 2017.  Over his career, Bill has practiced law in the areas of estate planning and asset protection.  Over the past 25 years, Bill has distinguished himself in the area of Medicaid planning and has spoken on the topic in numerous places throughout Ohio.

 

Bill is currently the Solicitor for the Village of Fort Jennings and previously served as the Law Director for the Village of Ottawa.

 

Bill primarily works in our Ottawa office; however, he does have appointments in our Fort Jennings office on Tuesday afternoons.

 

Bill and his wife, Barbara, live in Ottawa, Ohio.  Bill has a daughter, Alexandra Linares, a son-in-law, Daniel Linares, and a granddaughter, Eva. He enjoys golfing.

Nicholas Gerschutz

Associate

Nick started at Knueve, Sahloff, and Wildenhaus, LLC in September of 2020. He was born and raised in New Bavaria, Ohio. During his high school years at Patrick Henry, Nick enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, and football. He graduated from Bowling Green State University with Honors in 2016. Nick then went on to receive his J.D. from the Ohio Northern University Pettit School of Law in 2019, where he served on Law Review, earned several CALI Excellence for the Future Awards, and graduated with Honors.

 

After becoming licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio in 2019, Nick spent his first year as an attorney at Barrett, Easterday, Cunningham & Eselgroth in Dublin, where he practiced agricultural law, tax preparation, estate planning, probate administration, and litigation.

 

When not at the office, you can find Nick spending time with family and friends, working out, running, hiking, or cheering on the Buckeyes.

Tricia Halker

Legal Assistant

Tricia joined Knueve, Sahloff, and Wildenhaus, LLC in 2003 works with clients on getting their loved ones on Medicaid assistance, as well as Asset Protection for those looking to protect their assets for the future.  During tax season, Tricia also works a couple of days a week in our Fort Jennings office.

 

Tricia and her husband, Aaron, live in Columbus Grove with their 2 children.  Tricia and her family enjoy watching and attending Cleveland Indians games, when they are not busy with their kid’s sports and school activities.

Angie Dillon

Legal Assistant

Starting at Knueve, Sahloff, and Wildenhaus, LLC in 2003, Angie works with clients on asset protection, estate planning, real estate, client business payroll, income taxes, civil litigation, and getting their loved ones on Medicaid assistance.

 

Angie and her husband, Matt, live in Lima with their four children.  Angie also enjoys spending time on the water when she isn’t watching her children at a sporting event or horse show.

Deb Carpenter

Legal Assistant

Deb joined Knueve, Sahloff, and Wildenhaus, LLC in 2003, and she works with the banks and clients on the refinancing or closing on a house.  She also does title insurance for our title company, Tri County Title, LLC, and works with clients needing asset protection, estate planning, adoptions, guardianships, and other real estate matters.

 

Deb and her husband, Rick, live in Columbus Grove.  She has 2 children and 5 grandchildren.  In their free time, Deb and Rick enjoy boating at Indian Lake and going to flea markets.

Lynn Smith

Legal Assistant

Starting at the firm in 2005, Lynn works with clients who have lost their loved ones and helps them through the estate process.  She also works with clients on real estate, estate planning and business formations.

 

Lynn and her husband, Joe, live in Continental. They have 3 children and a dog.  Lynn enjoys reading, pottery, and going on adventures with her family.

Amber Compher

Legal Assistant

Amber joined Knueve, Sahloff, and Wildenhaus, LLC in 2021. Amber works with domestic relation clients, banks and clients on real estate matters.  Before starting for the law firm, Amber previously worked as an Office Manager for 7 years at another local business.

 

Amber and her husband Shawn, live in Ottawa with their 5 sons.  When she isn’t attending one of her kids’ activities, Amber enjoys spending time outdoors with her family around the campfire or pool. Amber also enjoys cooking and trying out new recipes.
