Andrew Knueve

Partner

Andy was born and raised in Kalida, Ohio.  He graduated from Bowling Green State University with Honors in 2009.  He then went on to receive his Juris Doctorate Degree from the Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law in 2012.  During his time at Ohio Northern, Andy was selected to the Executive Board of the Law Review.

 

Andy has been licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio since 2012 and an Attorney with Knueve, Sahloff, and Gerschutz, LLC since 2015.  He became Partner on January 1, 2019.  Andy is a licensed Title Insurance Agent for Old Republic National Title Insurance Company, and is a Partner in Tri-County Title, LLC.

 

Andy is currently serving as Law Director for the City of Delphos.  

 

Prior to coming to Knueve, Sahloff, and Gerschutz, LLC, he practiced law at Huffman, Kelley, Brock & Gottschalk, LLC in Lima.  

 

Andy resides in Delphos, Ohio with his wife Amanda and their three children Myles, Cambria and Charlotte. Andy and his family are members of the Delphos St. John’s Catholic Parish.

Kurt Sahloff

Of Counsel

Kurt Sahloff was born in Toledo, Ohio in 1968.  He grew up in Northwest Ohio, enjoying school, his family, friends, and playing football and basketball at Swanton High School.  Kurt received a B.A. in 1991 from the University of Toledo, graduating with honors.  Kurt received a J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law in 1993, graduating with honors, and served on the law review.

 

Kurt has been practicing law with the firm in Putnam County since 1994.  He practices in the areas of income tax planning and preparation, crisis Medicaid planning, Medicaid Pre-planning, real estate transactions, elder law, estate planning, and estate and trust administration.

 

Kurt currently serves as the Chairman of the Putnam County Board of Elections.  He formerly served as the Prosecuting Attorney of Putnam County (2001-2005). Kurt is a licensed Title Insurance Agent for Old Republic National Title Insurance Company, and is a Partner in Tri-County Title, LLC.

 

Kurt and his wife, Lori (Brink) Sahloff, live just outside of Ottawa enjoy spending time with their two adult children, Amanda and Seth.

Nicholas Gerschutz

Partner

Nick was born and raised in New Bavaria, Ohio. After graduating from Patrick Henry High School, Nick graduated from Bowling Green State University with Honors in 2016. He then went on to receive his J.D. from the Ohio Northern University Pettit School of Law in 2019.  While at Ohio Northern, he served on Law Review, earned several CALI Excellence for the Future Awards, and graduated with Honors.

 

After being admitted to the bar in 2019, Nick spent a year in Columbus before moving back to Northwestern Ohio and starting as an associate attorney with Knueve, Sahloff, & Gerschutz in 2020.  In January 2024, he was promoted to Partner.  He practices in the areas of estate planning, Medicaid Pre-planning, Medicaid planning, real estate, and taxation.

 

Nick is currently service as the Solicitor for the Village of Glandorf and previously served a term as President of the Putnam County Bar Association.

 

When not at the office, Nick enjoys spending time with his wife, Gloria and their children.  He also enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling and cheering on the Buckeyes. 

Griffin Brinkman

Associate

Griffin started at Knueve, Sahloff, and Gerschutz, LLC in August of 2024. Griffin was born and raised in Ottawa, Ohio and graduated with honors from Ottawa-Glandorf High School.

 

He graduated from the University of Cincinnati with Honors in 2020, then received his J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 2023. During his time in law school, Griffin was a Taft Scholar and advised student organizations on campus. Griffin passed the Ohio bar exam and became licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio in 2023.

 

After being licensed, Griffin began practicing at the Putnam County Prosecutor’s Office as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, with his primary responsibility being Juvenile Court. Griffin has also served as the Solicitor for the Village of Gilboa since January of 2024. 

 

Griffin and his wife, Erica Hageman-Brinkman, live in Ottawa and enjoy spending time with their friends and family. Griffin also enjoys playing trumpet with the Lima Area Concert Band.

Tricia Halker

Legal Assistant

Tricia joined Knueve, Sahloff, and Gerschutz, LLC in 2003 and has been assisting our clients in obtaining Medicaid assistance for more than 20 years. She enjoys getting to know clients and their families and takes pride in guiding them through the Medicaid process with care and compassion.  Tricia also helps our clients with Medicaid Pre-planning and Estate planning.  During tax season, she can be found in our Fort Jennings office a couple days a week, where she enjoys connecting with clients and supporting their tax needs.

 

Tricia and her husband, Aaron, live in Columbus Grove, with their two children, who attend different local schools – Columbus Grove and Fort Jennings – making for a lively mix of school spirit and rivalry at home. Outside of their busy family schedule, Tricia and her family enjoy cheering on the Cleveland Indians both at the ballpark and from home.

Angie Dillon

Legal Assistant

Beginning her career at Knueve, Sahloff, and Gerschutz, LLC in 2003, Angie brings over 20 years of experience in legal assistance. Angie has extensive knowledge in various areas of law, but primarily, Angie assists clients with estate planning, real estate matters, client business payroll, income tax issues, civil litigation, as well as Medicaid Pre-Planning.

 

A Putnam County native, Angie lives in Lima with her husband, Matt.  They are the proud parents of four children. As they transition into empty nesters, they enjoy their time on the water, supporting the Ohio State Buckeyes, and are enthusiastic Cincinnati Bearcat Fans!

Lynn Smith

Legal Assistant

Since joining the firm in 2005, Lynn has been a trust guide for families working through the estate process as she brings over a decade of specialized knowledge in Estate Administration.  Known for her empathy, compassionate support, and attention to detail, she helps clients settle the complexities of their loved ones’ estate with care and understanding.  Lynn also enjoys and assists clients with real estate transactions, estate planning and business formations and matters. 

 

Lynn and her husband, Joe, live in Continental, where they’re raising their three children.  When she is not at the office, you’ll likely find her read a good book, creating art, or off on a fun adventure with her family.

Amber Compher

Legal Assistant

Amber joined Knueve, Sahloff, and Gerschutz, LLC in 2021. Amber works with the banks and clients to facilitate the purchase or refinancing of loans.  She also handles Title Insurance for our Title Company, Tri County Title, LLC.

 

Amber and her husband Shawn, live in Ottawa with their 5 sons.  When she isn’t attending one of her kids’ activities, Amber enjoys spending time outdoors with her family around the campfire or pool.  Amber also enjoys cooking and trying out new recipes.  

Amanda Lawrence

Legal Assistant

Amanda joined Knueve, Sahloff & Gerschutz in September 2025. Amanda works with domestic relations and criminal clients. Amanda also has experience in personal injury and civil litigation. 

 

Amanda and her husband, Jared, live in Lima. They have four daughters. Amanda enjoys spending time with family and friends, baking and gardening. 

Rhonda Shaw

Legal Assistant

Rhonda joined Knueve, Sahloff & Gerschutz, LLC in September 2025 bringing 15 years of experience in Medicaid and 7 years of experience in Estate Planning and Estate Administration. 

 

Rhonda works with clients on Estate Planning, Estate Administration, and will be working with clients on Medicaid Pre-Planning and Medicaid qualification. 

 

Rhonda recently moved to Elida, OH from Fort Wayne, IN.  Rhonda has 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren, her fiancé, Jesse and his dog, Maggie. 

 

In her spare time, Rhonda enjoys crocheting, baking, and spending time in Northern Michigan kayaking, sitting by the fire, and adventuring throughout Michigan.
